‍⚖️ Legal Considerations

Trusted Accounts is privacy first and privacy by default. We store all user data in a way that not even we can read it anymore.

All data you receive from Trusted Accounts, like the Trusted ID is fully anonymized. This means it can not be connected to the user's real identity or any activity of the user on other platforms.

Law enforcement

Some might argue Trusted Accounts makes it hard for law enforcement to catch the bad guys because we anonymize all verification data and are unable to hand out the identity of our Trusted Accounts to the authorities.

Anonymity on the internet is a highly valuable good for many reasons. This is why the verification rates on most platforms are too low (5% and less). We focus on the 95% of users that are not verified and ask them to anonymously verify with Trusted Accounts. This increases the verification rates of the platforms and makes it easier for them to moderate.

This reduces the overall load of criminal activity on the internet and allows law enforcement to focus on fewer cases. Because you simply can not force 95% of the internet to reveal their identities, we believe this is the best way to build a more peaceful web.

info

We put an extra level of security on those users that are currently impossible to moderate.

Hosting and third parties

We partner with trusted services around the world (Ireland, Germany, US) to spread the encrypted user data across several independent actors. This is just another step towards a higher level of security.

info

No single authority should be able to access all user resources, although all data is encrypted. That's why we split it and distribute it to different entities.

GDPR

Or top priority is to keep user identities a secret. We set new standards and go beyond the GDPR.
